Comfort food is a tricky thing. I can tell you from personal experience that I have never had better gumbo than the gumbo my mother makes. Comfort food is a package deal. It always seems to be paired with moments and emotions. We would never want to compare our food to anyone’s familial traditions, so we’ve decided to create our own niche. We want to contribute to the culinary history of New Orleans and, hopefully, add our own chapter.
A novice considers New Orleans and thinks jambalaya, gumbo, and etouffee. As natives, we also envision juicy steaks, mind blowing pastas, and fresh sushi caught same day from the Gulf. New Orleans is home to the best food anywhere, but that is not just limited to Cajun and Creole dishes.
We refuse to limit ourselves.
